This is wrong

Tippu never won war against British

The First Anglo–Mysore War (1767–1769) saw Hyder Ali gain some measure of success against the British but suffer heavy defeats at the hands of the Marathas. Hyder Ali's alliance with the Nizam of Hyderabad against the British too was a failure owing to defeats of their combined power against the British and later the spread of mutual suspicion between the two Islamic powers. The Kingdom of Mysore regained some of its lost lands and had to relinquish many territories to the south of Mysore to the British.

The Second Anglo–Mysore War (1780–1784) witnessed bloodier battles with fortunes fluctuating between the contesting powers. This war saw the rise of Sir Eyre Coote, the British commander who repeatedly defeated Hyder Ali. Hyder and his son Tipu prevailed and this led to the last British-Indian treaty with an Indian ruler on equal footing. The war ended in 1784 with the Treaty of Mangalore, at which both sides agreed to restore the other's lands to the status quo ante bellum.

In the Third Anglo–Mysore War (1789–1792), Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore and an ally of France, invaded the nearby state of Travancore in 1789, which was a British ally. The resultant war lasted three years and was a resounding defeat for Mysore. The war ended after the 1792 siege of Seringapatam and the signing of the Treaty of Seringapatam, according to which Tipu had to surrender half of his kingdom to the British East India Company and its allies.

The Fourth Anglo–Mysore War (1799) saw the defeat of Tipu Sultan and further reductions in Mysorean territory. Mysore's alliance with the French was seen as a threat to the East India Company and Mysore was attacked from all four sides. Tipu's troops were outnumbered 4:1 in this war. Mysore had 35,000 soldiers, whereas the British commanded 60,000 troops. The Nizam of Hyderabad and the Marathas launched an invasion from the north. The British won a decisive victory at the Battle of Seringapatam in 1799. Tipu was killed during the defence of the city. Much of the remaining Mysorean territory was annexed by the British, the Nizam and the Marathas. The remaining core, around Mysore and Seringapatam, was restored to the Indian prince belonging to the Wodeyar dynasty, whose forefathers had been the actual rulers before Hyder Ali became the de facto ruler. The Wodeyars ruled the remnant state of Mysore until 1947, when it joined the Union of India.

Tippu Sultan was a small army commander under Mysore Kings

He made a military coup and became king and later suceeded by Tipu Sultan

all Tipu Sultan wins were against small kingdoms like Coorg (Kongu Nadu etc.,)

They always lost to British and Marathas and kept on paying money for them

Tipu as he was unable to defeat anyone wrote to Napolean to help him and at the same time asked Afghan ruler to invade India and requested that both of them together can make India as a Muslim state

North Kerala's high muslim population is due to Tipu conversions

we have to be careful not to fall prey to both marxist history revisionists and also hindu right wing propaganda

maybe Tipu sultan is not a mahatma Gandhi or a mother teresa... there is no doubt about it.

during Tipu's time every kingdom was a country. so kingdom of Mysore was a separate country. Mysore country was landlocked on all sides with British, British allies, Nizam and Marathas

Comparatively, Marathas were a raiding nation, who would raid on any other kingdom if they don't pay their yearly chauthh (25% of revenue) and sardeshmukhi (10% extra for the Maratha king's treasury). Infact Marathas were a major irritant in medieval India who attacked other kingdoms (the way Ghajini did) because they did not have any agricultural income, owing to their hilly kingdom. Whereas the Mysore muslim kingdom took good care of their farmers and their people even hindus. When British destroyed Mysore and entered their territory and started doing agricultural survey, they found that the average Mysore farmer was much well off than the farmers in the rest of India.

Thanks to the regular raids by Marathas, the Indian kingdoms of that time, became very weak except the Jatt Kingdoms and the Khalsa lands under Ranjit Singh who regrouped until they met their end in 1848.

Tipu had to attack Kerala because he badly needed a port. Without a port, help wouldn't come from France (who have already vacated from India, because Napoleon wanted to concentrate more on Europe) and other Shia Muslim Nations. But unfortunately he failed.

As far as conversion in medieval India is concerned. Trust me, it did not need a lot of convincing for the lower castes. In Kerala Dalit women were made to walk without any upper garment. This has been well chronicled. Any one being humiliated on that level on a daily basis for generations together would convert in a jiffy.
