Circulating virally, a list of carefully selected facts and non-facts were gathered to demonstrate the so-called eerie similarities between the assassination of famous President Abraham Lincoln in 1865 and that of John F. Kennedy in 1963. Described as an urban legend, the following rumors have circulated since the 1960s and still holds some truth to this day despite stories generally being overblown.

Discover the facts versus fiction in this possible connection between the two well-known historical figures of our time.

COINCIDENCE OR CREEPY CONNECTION?

  • Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846 and John F Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
  • Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860 and John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
  • The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters.
  • Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
  • Their wives both lost a child while living in the White House.

IT GETS A BIT STRANGER

  • Both Presidents were shot on a Friday and the both of them were shot in the head.
  • Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy and Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.
  • Both were assassinated by Southerners and were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.
  • Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.
  • John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

EXPLAIN THESE INTRICATE DETAILS

  • Both assassins were known by their three names which are equally composed of fifteen letters.
  • Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford' while Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln.'
  • Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse while Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater.
  • Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
  • A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland. A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

A CONCLUSION FOR THE INCONCLUSIVE

While these coincidences may seem fascinating, it is likely that the similarities between Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy are simply happenstance. While Kennedy reaped the benefits of success in the political atmosphere, there were plenty of differences between him and Lincoln, such as Lincoln's ongoing failures in attempting to hold national political office.

Many of the similarities are indeed interesting for history and pop culture buffs alike, however, when examined a bit closer, many of the coincidences can be perceived as trivial, misleading or overreaching. For instance, the crossover between the two of them having concerns with civil rights is a stretch as these were not personal interests that both happened to take part of, but rather they were current events that were happening in the United States that they were forced to face. In all, the facts are fun but the coincidences are a stretch when looked at closely.

Thamariki dead slow anipiste evadem chestadu raja. Lincoln 2012 is a very intelligent film. Danni pattukuni dead slow drama ante em antam. Fine that’s your taste. As far as I remember, the conversations and Daniel Day Lewis performance chala baguntayi. If anything, it’s not a slow or dull drama like you said. Nenu theatre lo chudatame malli tirigi chudaledu. “The Butler” is also similar kind of film, but adi more preachy and some what slow untundi and Lincoln is kinda inspiring touch untundi. IMO film wise Lincoln Is somewhat similar to “Invictus”. Avi rendu naku slow or dullsome anipinchavu. Infact it’s exactly the opposite, one of the finest films avi.
