Stars Wars: The Return of the Jedi made $475m on a $32m budget but Lucasfilm claims that it never made profit.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix made $942m on a $150m budget but the studio says it lost $167m.

Forrest Gump which collected $650m+ was shown as a loss venture to lessen the royalty fee to the author of the novel.

coz that's how Hollywood Accounting works. They inflate costs in order to evade taxes and profit-sharing mechanisms.

Wwwwhatt!!! With these collections they claimed flops? Unbelievable.

If Avatar and Avengers End Game are also claimed as flops, then I think we can forget using the term 'Hit' for Hollywood films :-)

Yes this is Hollywood accounting to not pay net credits to the actor/unit members who have contracts which will give them a portion of net profits...

The idea is to show as much little net profit in order to not pay the actors/technicians etc their percentage of net profits

This is why big stars and directors now have gross share contracts where by they get a percentage of the actual gross along with their upfront fees

Watched in IMAX this time. For tho who haven't watched the movie I'd recommend to watch it in IMAX if available. Clearly noticed the picture difference.

Have to say this is not even mid-tier Nolan film. Definitely his weakest works but even Nolan's weakest work will be much better than half the movies out there. Those are the standards he set for himself.

1st half is tedious. There is so much talk about world war 3 and stuff but I didn't feel that kind of threat at all. For the most part our protagonist just travels places in suits. Typical Spy film trope. Not much action either except for airport scene.

2nd half is good. Picks up from the car chase scene. Climax battle scene is 10 minutes of pure eyegasm. Just wow. Liked the dynamic between The Protagonist and Neil.

Finally, I want 2000-2010 Nolan back. His latest films haven't been up to his caliber especially the last two. Emotional high and humor quotient missing. Maybe he should start collaborating with his brother again.
