Hey Guys,

Need you advice, I have a grandfather who is about 80 years........Recently two months ago, he fell sick, don't know the reason. We gave him medicines, he did recover from fever. But somehow from last few weeks, he started becoming very weak. Previously, with the help of walking stick, he used to do everything on his own. But from last two weeks on wards someone has to hold him to make him walk. But from last few days, he is not even able to stand. Now he is more or less like a bedridden. He is not able to talk also. Looks like he is loosing his memory power. He stayed in Vijayawada for more than 50 years. But when we ask him from where did you come he is not able to tell. He is not even able to recall what is his profession(worked as a government employee all through his lifetime). Is something going wrong or it's part of the age.

We keep asking him are you feeling any pain while standing, he doesn't even respond for that. He feels to be very nervous to answer anything.

Main problem is because of COVID, we are bit hesitant to take to any hospital/doctor. If anyone has got medical experience, please suggest what best can we do. Really old age is such a pain. I'm very sad to see that, once upon a time he was the most strongest person in our family. He never knew what weakness is. Really can't understand what's going wrong with him.

Suggestions are welcome !

Every hospital will have that facility ??, or any specific ones are there? Can you suggest the names and address of them

Memory loss is common even my grandmother age 90+ was facing same issues, she couldn't even remember her own daughter, son etc and she use to always speak some unrelated topics which we couldn't understand.

Yup, I was thinking that...The main unfortunate thing is, he got this issue during COVID time, otherwise we would have immediately taken to hospital.

There is one diagnostic center nearby. If we call, they will come to home and take blood tests. Do you know if any specific blood tests are there, that will tell, if there is a issue in the brain.
