//Aaradhana movie ni remake chesar
Yes. Rajesh Khanna's Aaradhana was released in 1969. Gemini Picutres gave advance (advance was higher than the highest remuneration received by any other hero then) to Shobhan in December 1972. The film Kannavaari Kalalu was released in January 1974.

Three reasons for this film failure were

1. Though th film Aaradhana's child out of wedlock concept was well received all over India even in 1969, the same concept was not acceptable for Telugu audience even after 5 years.  So, Kannavaari Kalalu got flop talk but saved by the star presence (No.1 pair then).

2.  At the time of Kannavaari Kalalu release, Shobhan was the craziest hero in TFI, but there will be a 30-40 minute story without the presence of Shobhan (in the gap between father Shobhan's death and son Shobhan's entry) which caused disappointment to the audience. If this film would have released 7 years later, people would have seen the film and the film would have ended up as a hit.

3.
At the time of Kannavaari Kalalu release, Vanishree was the undisputed no.1 heroine in TFI, and she was the youth icon then.  Her getup from the interval was an old getup, and wig used for her was intolerable by the audience.  Director would have used a more glamourous wig for Vanishree's elderly role but made a wrong choice, which caused the damage.

See beautiful song “Yelaa yelaa daachaavao” song from Gorintaaku

One fan in Vizag saw the film every day at least one time for 147 days in Vizag Alankar for this song especially Shobhan’s walk in this song which can be seen at 3:09.  Until 1986, I did not know how important this film’s songs (especially this song) for Shobhan fans until I saw this film in repeat run on December 4,1986 second show in Kurnool Nataraj when Police van came to control Shobhan fans during the songs of this film.  SV University students used to go to Tirupathi Minipratap theater almost every day second show till 100 days and used to throw flowers during this film’s songs.  That is the reason why more than 200 shows were houseful for 100 days and this film, if allowed, could have an easy silver jubilee run in Minipratap.
